Council is seeking applications for the position of Trainee Water Operations to work as part of the Water and Sewer team maintaining Council’s water supply, sewer treatment, sewer pump stations maintenance including planned and unplanned maintenance of the water and wastewater network systems and to understand and work to health, environmental, safety and council standards for the benefits of the Oberon community.
Working on projects and tasks that matter to our community, your traineeship will include working on:
Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
Pump Station Maintenance
Wastewater Manhole Inspections
Civil Pipe Laying and Construction
This is a two-year fixed term traineeship based on 38 hours per week under the current Local Government (State) Award 2020. The salary rate base is T4 $742.70 per week.
Essential
- Higher School Certificate Year 12 is essential or equivalent.
- Dedication to completing a Certificate III Water Industry Operations NWP30222 with the ability to complete theory and practical work units associated with the Certificate being studied.
- Dedication to completing a NSW Fluoride Operators Certification NWPTRT006 with the ability to complete theory and practical work units associated with the Certificate being studied.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships and partnerships, both internally and externally, that contribute to the achievement of the organisational outcomes
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Positive attitude with the ability to be an active and effective team member
- Current NSW Class P1, P2 or C Drivers Licence
- Achievements of educational standard in Mathematics and Science, with a transcript being provided
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other applications
- Safework NSW General Construction Induction card (white card)
